Shen Long Xingyi Quan: Form-Intention Boxing

Shen Long Xingyi Quan is a unique style of xingyi. While its five element and 12 animal forms are recognizable when compared to orthodox styles, the Shen Long system is distinguished by its heavy influence from Gao Bagua, emphasis on martial realism and the non-xingyi foundational aspects of its curriculum. No prior martial arts experience is required.
Cost: $75/month for unlimited xingyi classes (talk to the instructor about possible per-class rate)
Community Qigong: Wang Ji Wu's 16 Longevity Exercises
Saturdays 9-9:45am (At FLX Acupuncture Ithaca studio)
The reputed Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Wang Ji Wu, created this series of exercises in the 1930s to serve as a front line therapy at his busy clinic in Beijing. Distilled from his system of Xingyi Quan, the Longevity Exercises artfully combine physical movement with intention to stretch and “clean” all the joints of the body while balancing the energetic system. The exercises are easy to learn and easy to practice, and can be done seated if standing is not possible.
No experience required, all levels welcome. Feel free to drop in - all summer long we will do the same set of exercises every week.
Cost: Suggested donation $10-15 per class, or $40 per month.

Wear comfortable clothes for exercising.
Wear indoor shoes or socks inside the studio - no street shoes inside.
Water and bathrooms are available, but bring your own water bottle.

Prospective students may try their first Xingyi class for free.
